Loyalty Program, Points, Rewards
How do customers earn points?
Thirdshelf automatically keeps track of all purchases made by your customers and, by default, attributes 1 point per dollar spent*. This can be changed through what we call Earning Rules.
How do customers redeem their points?
As customers earn points, they'll be able to redeem them for rewards you've configured under the Loyalty section of your portal. Rewards will be visible but will stay locked until a customer has earned enough points.
The amount of points required to unlock every reward is defined by you. We do have suggestions in the form of a Quick-Start guide if you need assistance but you can go as creative as you'd like.
The key to an effective program is to build it in such a way that customers are encouraged to keep shopping at your store to unlock more compelling rewards as they go, rather than 'spending' their points at the first opportunity. This is how you design you program to deliver more visits/purchases.
Thirdshelf keeps track of each customer's point balance as well as maintain count of the lifetime points which consists in the total points earned since joining the program.
What kind of rewards can I offer?
With Thirdshelf, you can create rewards ranging from % discounts and $ discounts to free products or services. Here is how to configure each.
What if I want to use a different type of program?
Besides a points program, Thirdshelf supports programs based on Achievements (lifetime points), recurring rewards (lifetime points) as well as Frequent Buyer programs.
Most often, the simplest program structures are the ones customers understand best and engage with the most. We highly recommend the more versatile points program over those. Please reach out if you have questions about those programs.
*Note: Points are earned on dollars spent before tax. For any other currency Thirdshelf will give one point for one unit of said currency spent before tax. If you use VAT our system will detect this and attribute points on the total purchase.
